Softball Recap: Palestine-Wheatley Takes a Loss

If Palestine-Wheatley was riding high fresh off their 16-0 takedown of England last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Palestine-Wheatley Patriots came up short against the McCrory Jaguars on Thursday, falling 11-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Palestine-Wheatley's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for McCrory, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palestine-Wheatley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on March 31st. McCrory also won't see the field for a while: their next game is against Tuckerman at 4:30 p.m. on April 1st.
