Softball Game Preview: El Camino Colts vs. Mercy Bears

The El Camino Colts will face off against the Mercy Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. El Camino will be strutting in after a victory while Mercy will be coming in after a loss.

El Camino took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Castilleja 10-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Colts' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Juliana Bazlamit was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lara Rezende, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Mercy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Notre Dame.

Mercy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vikki Saenz, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mercy's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for El Camino, they moved to 3-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
