Basketball Recap: Lakeland Christian Takes a Loss

Lakeland Christian lost against Seffner Christian two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Lakeland Christian Vikings took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seffner Christian Crusaders. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Lakeland Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Drew Cruz went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Cruz a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Donohue, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Lakeland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Seffner Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-11.

Lakeland Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-58 defeat against George Jenkins on the 28th. Seffner Christian has also already played their next contest, a 71-43 loss against Jesuit on the 28th.
