Basketball Game Preview: Williams Vikings vs. El Capitan Eagles + How To Watch

The Williams Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the El Capitan Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Williams is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Ash Fork on Thursday. The Vikings lost to the Spartans at home by a 48-29 margin. The Vikings have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, El Capitan entered their tilt with Red Mesa on Thursday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They came out on top against the Redskins by a score of 43-30. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

El Capitan's win came from a few key players that Williams will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ruth Timpson, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and ten boards. Her big performance that afternoon made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Samantha Hammon was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

El Capitan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive games.

El Capitan's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Williams, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
