Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Hopkinton

Hopkinton came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bellingham Blackhawks by a score of 5-1. The Hillers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blackhawks, too.

Addy Walls made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Walls wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ella Tedstone, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Callie Arthur was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Hopkinton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in four consecutive contests.

Hopkinton's record is now 11-3. As for Bellingham, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.

Hopkinton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-4 victory against Holliston on the 8th. As for Bellingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 4-0 loss against Medway on the 12th.
