Softball Recap: Mohawk Comes Up Short

Ontario hit Mohawk with a four-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Mohawk might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-5 to Ontario, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Mohawk has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mohawk saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Gottfried, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Gottfried is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Blake Miller was another, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Mohawk's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Ontario, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Mohawk will be playing at home against Wynford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ontario, they will take on Shelby at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
