Baseball Recap: Broad Run's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dominion, Broad Run was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Heritage Pride by a score of 8-5. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Xavier Franzonello tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits.

At the plate, Evan McLaughlin was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Brayden Willis was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Broad Run's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broad Run will head out to take on Potomac Falls at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Heritage, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
