Baseball Recap: Crawford County Comes Up Short

Crawford County had lost 11 straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 3-19 to make it 12. They fell just short of the Clarksville Generals by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolfpack have suffered since April 28th.

As for Clarksville, their win bumped their record up to 7-11. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

For Clarksville's part, Jayden Arnold was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Arnold is becoming a predictor of the Generals' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aiden Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Crawford County will head out to take on Paoli at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clarksville, they will venture away from home to square off against Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Musketeers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
