Baseball Game Preview: Kent School Lions vs. Kingswood Oxford Wyverns

The Kent School Lions will head out to square off against the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kent School comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Kent School's offense. They came up short against Loomis Chaffee School on Wednesday, falling 12-0. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Meanwhile, Kingswood Oxford faced Taft School in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wyverns fell just short of the Big Red by a score of 6-4. Wyverns fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Big Red since on Wednesday.

Rafael Medina made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Bowes, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Kingswood Oxford and nudges their season record down to 7-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for Kent School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Kent School suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Kingswood Oxford when the teams last played last Wednesday. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
