Basketball Recap: Istrouma Victorious

Istrouma's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 64-61 win over the Tara Trojans. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their 19-point performance the match before.

Istrouma's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-19. As for Tara, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Istrouma will head out to challenge Belaire at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tara, they will venture away from home to face off against McKinley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McKinley has four straight wins, Tara has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
