Baseball Recap: Goodrich Has No Trouble Against Clio

Goodrich lost to Clio on Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Martians blew past the Mustangs 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Martians, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Parker Pannell was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Scott Pethers was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Nate Gould was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Goodrich's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Clio, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Goodrich will have a chance to go back-to-back against Clio: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
