Basketball Game Preview: Evansville Day Eagles vs. Northeast Dubois Jeeps

The Evansville Day Eagles will face off against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Evansville Day is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Dugger Union: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Evansville Day blew Dugger Union out of the water with a 64-33 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-13.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northeast Dubois had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Braves as they made off with a 54-33 win. The Jeeps have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Evansville Day's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17. As for Northeast Dubois, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Evansville Day came up short against Northeast Dubois in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 56-46. Can Evansville Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
