Baseball Recap: Vineland Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Vineland and Millville meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Fighting Clan fell just short of the Thunderbolts by a score of 4-3. The Fighting Clan were not able to make up for their loss to the Thunderbolts from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Vineland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ernie Bernhardt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Vineland's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only three runs. As for Millville, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

While Vineland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
