Football Game Preview: McCook Bison vs. Hastings Tigers

The McCook Bison will head out to challenge the Hastings Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

McCook barely beat Gering the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bison blew past the Bulldogs 41-17 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

McCook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Campbell, who rushed for 134 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Another signal caller making a difference was Trenton Raile, who threw for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes.

McCook's run defense was locked in: Gering could only muster 2.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Gabe Roberts for the heroic effort on defense: he. McCook didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hastings, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Beatrice by a score of 14-7 on Friday.

McCook's record now sits at 4-1. As for Hastings, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
