Preview: Wootton Patriots vs. Whitman Vikings
Wootton and Whitman are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Wootton Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Whitman Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wootton is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Wootton came up short against Bethesda-Chevy Chase and fell 49-42. While losing is never fun, Wootton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Bethesda-Chevy Chase is ranked 35th).
Meanwhile, Whitman was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 46-42 to Walter Johnson.
Wootton's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10. As for Whitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
