Baseball Game Preview: Tri-County RVT Cougars vs. Bristol-Plymouth RVT Craftsmen

The Tri-County RVT Cougars will face off against the Bristol-Plymouth RVT Craftsmen at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tri-County RVT 4.1, Bristol-Plymouth RVT 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Tri-County RVT easily dispatched Southeastern RVT on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Cougars fell just short of Diman RVT by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Bristol-Plymouth RVT sidestepped Blue Hills RVT for a 5-4 victory.

The team relied heavily on Jayden Cruz, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Pemberton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Bristol-Plymouth RVT is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Tri-County RVT, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Tri-County RVT has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bristol-Plymouth RVT struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Tri-County RVT suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Bristol-Plymouth RVT in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
