Basketball Recap: Heritage Piles Up the Points Against Heritage Preparatory

Heritage waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Heritage Preparatory Rams 64-27. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Rams are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Barron Ofosu-Kwarteng out in front who went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and eight assists. Ofosu-Kwarteng's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jaxson Dragg was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Heritage pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.3 points. As for Heritage Preparatory, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6.

Heritage has already played their next match, a 46-42 victory against Carrollton on the 18th. As for Heritage Preparatory, they will be playing at home against Rock Springs Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Springs Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.4 points per game this season.
