Mater Dei is 9-1 against Santa Margarita since October of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Monarchs are taking a road trip to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Mater Dei will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Mater Dei is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Marymount, who was ranked sixth at the time (Mater Dei was ranked fifth). The Monarchs walked away with a 2-0 win over the Sailors on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Santa Margarita beat St. Henry 2-0 on Friday.

Mater Dei's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Santa Margarita, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Everything went Mater Dei's way against Santa Margarita when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Mater Dei made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
