Basketball Recap: Chisholm Trail's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Chisholm Trail unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 47-33 bruising from the Aledo Bearcats. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rangers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-53 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Chisholm Trail saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jesse Mutombo dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Mutombo a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Omari Johnson, who posted seven points.

Chisholm Trail's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8. As for Aledo, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fossil Ridge the next time they take the court. Aledo will host Fossil Ridge at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, while Chisholm Trail will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
