Softball Recap: Elyria Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Elyria's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Berea-Midpark Titans on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.

Braylee Beckham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Elyria's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Berea-Midpark, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Elyria and Berea-Midpark should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Pioneers (ranked 205th) will meet Bay (ranked 513th) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark will face off against Olmsted Falls at 4:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (107 vs. 399).
