Basketball Recap: Wapello Comes Up Short

Wapello lost against Lone Tree back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wapello Indians lost 63-37 to the Lone Tree Lions. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Lions are ranked 132nd).

Wapello's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lone Tree, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wapello will welcome Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lone Tree, they will host WACO at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
