Football Recap: Lackawanna Comes Up Short

After flying high against Albion last Friday, Lackawanna came back down to earth. The Steelers fell 21-14 to the Iroquois Redhawks on Saturday.

Iroquois' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justus Kleitz, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 63 yards on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Kleitz has posted since back in October of 2024. 155 of Kleitz's passing yards were hauled in by Nicholas Skutnik.

Lackawanna's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Iroquois, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Lackawanna will square off against Dunkirk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Iroquois, they will be playing at home against Maryvale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
