For the second straight game, Draughn will face off against Mitchell. Draughn will challenge Mitchell at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Draughn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.3 runs per game this season.

Draughn took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over Mitchell. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Avie Helton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Helton was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lindsey Hensley, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Maddy Hudson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Draughn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mitchell only posted an OBP of .333.

Draughn pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mitchell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Draughn's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. Draughn has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mitchell, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Draughn continue to outrun the ball?
