Recap: Osawatomie Trojans vs. Burlington Wildcats
The Osawatomie Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 52-45 to Burlington. While losing is never fun, Osawatomie can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Burlington is ranked 76th).
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasper Sallee, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tucker Fennel, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Osawatomie struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Osawatomie's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Burlington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Osawatomie will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Uniontown at 8:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Burlington, they will be playing at home against Independence on Tuesday.
