Softball Recap: Troy Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

While Troy's victory against Stebbins wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indians 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Mimi Shaw, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Ater, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Troy's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Stebbins, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Troy will challenge Greenville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Wave will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stebbins, they will head out to take on Tippecanoe at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
