Preview: Springbrook Blue Devils vs. Great Mills Hornets
After three games on the road, Springbrook is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Great Mills Hornets at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Springbrook will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Great Mills is ranked 102nd).
Last Thursday, Springbrook had to suffer through a rough 60-29 loss at the hands of Sherwood. Springbrook has struggled against Sherwood recently, as their match on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Great Mills entered their tilt with Wilde Lake with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Great Mills simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Wilde Lake 48-19 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Great Mills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was A'Naija Bush, who scored 17 points. The contest was Bush's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Telisa Adams, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Springbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Great Mills, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
