Northside waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Westinghouse Warriors 19-7. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Monday.
Northside let Jesse Nick and John Piper run wild. Nick fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Piper went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two home runs gave Nick a new career-high. Tyler Weigand was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Northside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westinghouse only posted a batting average of .269.
Northside's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Westinghouse, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
