Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Stanly walked away with it. They blew past the Union Academy Cardinals 7-0 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won 18 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

North Stanly's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-10.

Looking ahead, North Stanly will face off against Patton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. Union Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
