The Twelve Bridges Raging Rhinos will head out to take on the Del Campo Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Twelve Bridges is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since April 5th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Truckee 4-2.
The team relied heavily on Jackson Whitesides, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Ty Uhde was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Del Campo waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Raging Rhinos, sneaking past 5-3.
Brody Bieneman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Del Campo is undefeated when Bieneman posts two or more runs, but 11-12-1 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Del Campo got a great performance from Logan Smith as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, Smith posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
Bieneman wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Farris, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Farris has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Landen Hill, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Del Campo pushed their record up to 14-12-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Twelve Bridges, their record is now 12-14.
Twelve Bridges couldn't quite finish off Del Campo when the teams last played on Wednesday and fell 5-3. Can the Raging Rhinos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
