Recap: Southern Columbia Area vs. Dunmore
The MaxPreps state rankings speculated that Dunmore might have a hard time against Southern Columbia Area, and the rankings were right on the money. Southern Columbia Area delivered Dunmore a harsh 56 - 19 defeat. Since it was a playoff game, the loss was a particularly difficult one for Dunmore.
Dunmore got first blood with a 15-yard receiving touchdown in its first drive, but Southern Columbia Area was able to respond with 35 first-half points. That put Dunmore down 35 - 13. The defense had its troubles as well as it allowed 21 points in the second half.
Despite the defeat, Dunmore won't want to forget the exciting 65-yard TD scramble from senior Frank Damiano in the fourth quarter.
The win was just another feather in the cap for the still undefeated Southern Columbia Area, who sits at 15-0. Dunmore's record fell to 14-1 after the loss.
The Southern Columbia Area squad is out to improve its record as its season nears the end. Southern Columbia Area is set to face off against Wilmington Area in a playoff match this Friday at 1:00 PM. Southern Columbia Area has blown out its past 15 opponents, so Wilmington Area has its work cut out for it.
