Softball Recap: Dutch Fork Comes Up Short

Dutch Fork extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 2-16. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wade Hampton Generals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Silver Foxes have suffered since April 5, 2025.

Abigail Pouliot was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Kate Chavis also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

As for Wade Hampton, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On Wade Hampton's side, Kellyn Kingston spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Kingston.

On the hitting side, Abigail Ellis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Dutch Fork nor Wade Hampton have any future games scheduled.
