Basketball Recap: Carlisle County Takes a Loss

Carlisle County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 61-49 to the Ballard Memorial Bombers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bombers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-49 last Friday.

Despite the loss, Carlisle County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Rickard went 8 of 16 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. Rickard's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Kylen King, who posted seven points and four steals.

Carlisle County's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Ballard Memorial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle County will host Mayfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ballard Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Mary at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
