Baseball Recap: Bullitt Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against Desales

There's no place like home for Bullitt Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the DeSales Colts on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Bullitt Central let Cole Halbrook and Taylor Coffman run wild. Halbrook went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Coffman scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Coffman is becoming a predictor of Bullitt Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Burton, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bullitt Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bullitt Central's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for DeSales, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bullitt Central will take on Bullitt East at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for DeSales, they will face off against Paul Laurence Dunbar at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
