Baseball Recap: Acadiana Christian Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Christian Home Educators Fellowship, Acadiana Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Good Samaritan HomeSchool Hornets. The win continues a trend for the Defenders in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won three in a row.

Dawson Claudet and Caleb Barras made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Claudet tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Barras pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Acadiana Christian is undefeated when Claudet allows three or fewer hits, but 2-4 otherwise. At the plate, Claudet scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Barras scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Barras also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Myers, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. John 'Hudson' Miller also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Acadiana Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Good Samaritan HomeSchool, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-4.

The Defenders didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-4 defeat against the Lions on the 15th. Good Samaritan HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
