Baseball Recap: Cathedral Irish vs. Horizon Scorpions
Cathedral had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 11-9-3 to make it four. They lost 11-4 to the Horizon Scorpions. The Irish were not able to make up for their loss to the Scorpions from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.
Leonardo Fonseca made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Julian Eacalante also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
As for Horizon, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-11. The result was nothing new for the Scorpions, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Horizon's side, they let JONATHAN BENITEZ and FRANKLIN MILLER run wild. BENITEZ went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while MILLER went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI MILLER has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of MARCUS OJEDA, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Looking ahead, Cathedral will take on Austin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Horizon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
