Basketball Recap: Manchester's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Manchester entered their game against Cornerstone Christian on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Manchester Panthers fell just short of the Cornerstone Christian Patriots by a score of 64-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since December 2, 2023.

It was another big night for Quinn Kwasniak, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 assists for Cornerstone Christian. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Kwasniak has scored at least a third of Cornerstone Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darrien Davis, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 11 points along with five boards and five steals.

Manchester's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Manchester Panthers duke it out with the Mogadore Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will host Fuchs Mizrachi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Cornerstone Christian has won four straight at home dating back to last season, while Fuchs Mizrachi won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
