Basketball Recap: Derrick J.R. Cross Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Edgewood

Bloomington North lost to Edgewood back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Bloomington North Cougars secured a 62-57 W over the Edgewood Mustangs.

Bloomington North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Derrick J.R. Cross led the charge by going 8-for-12 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Cross now owns an excellent 40.5% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Caleb Fishel, who went 8-for-15 to rack up 21 points.

Edgewood's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aj Norris, who posted 14 points. Reece Roberts was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 11 points.

Bloomington North's record is now 6-11. As for Edgewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Bloomington North has already played their next game, a 55-53 defeat against Zionsville on the 8th. As for Edgewood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-55 win against Martinsville on the 11th.
