Preview: Forest Hills Yellow Jackets vs. Monroe Redhawks

The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Monroe Redhawks at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Forest Hills has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 768 points over their last 11 matches.

Even though Anson scored an imposing 82 points on Friday, Forest Hills still came out on top. Forest Hills took their game against Anson 89-82. That's two games straight that Forest Hills has won by exactly seven points.

Forest Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amari Melton, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. Melton has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jahmarion Mingo, who scored 21 points.

Meanwhile, Monroe scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 66-25 win over Central Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Monroe has posted against Central Academy since January 27, 2017.

Monroe can attribute much of their success to Kaegan Chambers, who scored 15 points along with five assists, and Zavion Ivey, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ivey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Young, who scored five points along with eight assists and three steals.

Forest Hills' victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Monroe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Fans should be in for an exciting game on Tuesday as the two teams are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Forest Hills hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 65.1 points per game. It's a different story for Monroe, though, as they've been averaging only 52.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Forest Hills strolled past Monroe in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 62-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Forest Hills since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
