Soccer Recap: Manzano vs. La Cueva
Manzano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 5-0 to the La Cueva Bears. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Bears are ranked third).
Manzano's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16-1. As for La Cueva, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1-3.
Manzano does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Cueva, they will challenge Gadsden at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. La Cueva knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Gadsden likes a good challenge.
