Softball Recap: Edwards County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Edwards County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Grayville Bison. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Edwards County let Braelyn Troyer and Lily Jones run wild. Troyer went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave Jones a new career-high. Holly Hensley also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Edwards County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Edwards County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Grayville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-3.

As for Grayville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Odin/Patoka/Sandoval on the 8th.
