Basketball Recap: CSTHEA Comes Up Short

If CSTHEA was riding high fresh off their 64-43 takedown of Upper Cumberland last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The CSTHEA Patriots lost 68-46 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday. The Patriots were down 53-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, CSTHEA saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Silas Fincher went 5 for 7 on his way to 11 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Fincher also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Ryan Swanson was another key player, going 6 of 8 to rack up 12 points.

Gaas Herman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Notre Dame, putting up 25 points. The matchup was Herman's 21st in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximo Santiesteban, who posted 15 points.

CSTHEA's loss dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Notre Dame, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season.

CSTHEA has already played their next game, a 72-55 victory against Tennessee Heat on the 8th. Notre Dame does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
