Baseball Recap: Vista Del Lago Beats Ponderosa for Their Third Straight Victory

Vista del Lago had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Ponderosa Bruins, sneaking past 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-9 last Tuesday.

Tyler Bolyard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Bolyard wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Wait, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Wait a new career-high.

Vista del Lago kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Vista del Lago's record is now 13-7. As for Ponderosa, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Vista del Lago will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
