PETALUMA, Calif. - the Gauchos scored 27 points in the second quarter to secure a big 45-14 victory over Alameda (Calif.) on Saturday.
Casa Grande scored on a
JaJuan Lawson touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Lawson to
Andre Kupelian, a Lawson touchdown pass to
Kyle Chase and a touchdown run by
Daniel Greisen in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
John Porchivina in the first quarter, CG was up 45-0 at the half.
With the win the Petaluma school extended its winning streak to 11 games. Casa Grande defeated Cardinal Newman 40-28 last week.
Casa Grande's most effective player was Lawson. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
Casa Grande went into the matchup giving up only 15.2 points per game. Alameda's 14 points were well below their season average of 21.4 per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Alameda, which notched a 54-24 victory over Arroyo in its previous outing.
