Softball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Seminary Finds Home Field Redemption Against Byron

There's no place like home for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Byron Eagles on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Ally Coffey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Coffey wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kerin Gardner, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Gardner has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
