Recap: Red Mountain Mountain Lions vs. Dobson Mustangs

There's no place like home for the Red Mountain Mountain Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Dobson by a score of 50-40 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Red Mountain also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Red Mountain was led to victory by Bjorn Molenaar and Jaxon Griffin. Molenaar scored seven points along with eight rebounds, while Griffin scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffin has scored all season. Anthony Gamba was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.

Dobson lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tremaine Turner, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Beard, who scored 15 points.

The win got Red Mountain back to even at 9-9. As for Dobson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Mesa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday. Dobson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Mountain View is ranked 90th, while Dobson is ranked 91st).
