Basketball Recap: Albany Takes a Loss

Albany and Clayton Valley Charter squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Albany had to settle for second. The game between them and the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles didn't end well, with the Albany Cougars falling 45-27. The match marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jett Tran was the offensive standout of the game as he went 6-for-7 on his way to 14 points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in shooting accuracy (86%). Another player making a difference was Zion Grissom, who posted eight points.

Albany is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 21-7. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-11.

Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alameda at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Alameda knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Clayton Valley Charter likes a good challenge.
