Basketball Recap: Madrid Comes Up Short

Madrid lost against West Central Valley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Madrid Tigers took a hard 41-27 fall against the West Central Valley Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Wildcats are ranked 122nd).

Madrid dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for West Central Valley, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madrid will square off against Don Bosco at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for West Central Valley, they will face off against Paton-Churdan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
