Baseball Recap: Elbert Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Elbert was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They lost 15-2 to the Simla Cubs. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cubs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Elbert saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Cornell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Cornell is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Grant Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Elbert's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Simla, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cubs beat Elbert by a score of 25-4 later that day.
