Basketball Recap: Williamstown Takes Down Twin Valley in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Williamstown walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 74-29 victory over the Twin Valley Wildcats. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 28 points or more this season.

Williamstown's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Bailey led the charge by putting up 11 points along with eight boards and six assists. Bailey has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Quentavas Horace was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Bailey wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Williamstown was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They racked up 11 more assists than Twin Valley's also-impressive total of 11.

Despite the loss, Twin Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Niko Gerding posted 18 points.

The win (which was Williamstown's seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-6. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Twin Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-7 record.

Williamstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 55-38 loss against West Rutland on the 3rd. Twin Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
