Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Kapaun Mt. Carmel's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

Kapaun Mt. Carmel won the last time they faced Great Bend and things went their way on Thursday too. The Crusaders skirted past the Panthers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted since October 4th.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-29, 25-18, 25-21.

Mason Palace paced Kapaun Mt. Carmel's offense, picking up 12 kills. Palace got some help from McCoy Phister and her 22 assists. Phister was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Great Bend still got an impressive performance from Ava Kaiser, who had 12 digs.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-12 record this season. As for Great Bend, their loss ended an 11-match streak of away wins and brought them to 28-11.

As of now, neither Kapaun Mt. Carmel nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
